JT Hodge's single, Hunt You Down is out now!
With her hands in my hair like a million magic fingers
She said “Look me up when you get back to town”
“Look you up?” I said. “Hell, I’m gonna hunt you down!”
“I went to Graceland one day for six hours, took it all in and then went out on Beale Street listening to blues. Then the next day I went back to Nashville for a writing session with Rivers Rutherford and Mark Collie, and I walked in and told them where I had been the night before. Rivers told me then that he was from Memphis—born and raised in Germantown. I said, ‘Let’s just mess around and write a song about a night in Memphis.’ I just loved the vibe, and when in doubt, put a girl in there, right? There’s a little bit of that dirty Memphis/Mississippi Delta thing going on—just little hints of it.”
