JT Hodges at the KIX 96 Studio Lounge on Wednesday, May 25th
JT Hodges stopped by the KIX 96 Studio today and spent some time getting to know Spokane, the Mighty KIX 96, and country fans. He also managed to sing us his story and play four of his songs for the crowd! Out of the four he played I of course loved the single “Hunt You Down” but I really loved another one of his songs that is a little bit darker, deeper, and I didn’t catch the name but all day I have been calling it “Sleepy Little Town.” Sleepy Little Town is about what happens when the lights go down in a small town and coming from a small town I could relate to the song so much. It had a few funny lines in the song but overall I think it spoke the truth about a lot of the little unknown towns in the United States.
Back to “Hunt You Down” JT wrote this song in about 45 minutes. He is a huge Elvis fan and he had the opportunity to go to Memphis and spend 6 hours in Graceland. He then continued to spend the night there and party a bit when the next day he had to get up and write music. One thing led to the next and now we have the catchy whistling song known as “Hunt You Down;” which by the way will get stuck in your head!
Other then the fact that JT is extremely easy on the eyes, he can sing and play the guitar as well. One other thing I noticed was how he had the coolest ring… it was a small metal guitar that bent around his finger. I seriously couldn’t get over how cool it was and how now I am on a mission to find one. JT Hodges also played for us his songs “Right About Now,” and “Leave Me Later.” He has a special place in his heart for Spokane and KIX 96 because KIX 96 was the FIRST radio station to play his single! JT is very charismatic and trust me, he will go places. Keep an eye out for his name, I bet before you even know it he will be playing a bigger show in the area!
